Waves uses a third party email service to deliver a variety of email notifications. Previously, we explored the GOV.UK Notify service, but at the time it didn't not support dynamic email templates and attachments.

Currently, Waves uses a private SMTP account with Mailgun.

Expected environment variables to support a SMTP service are:

SMTP_ADDRESS  
SMTP_DOMAIN 
SMTP_PASSWORD  
SMTP_USERNAME
