Environment has basic collision.
Still working on it though

Added a bunch of props, many of them in Unreal because I was having
issues importing custom props. Also added footstep sounds and reduced
walking speed to 300 from 600.
Line tracing done through new blueprints under ThirdPersonBP. Object
highlighting done through Level Blueprint. Picking up the cupcake hides
the actor for now instead of destroying, since the highlighting needs
the actor reference. Since in the finished version we won't actually
destroy or hide any actors this shouldn't be a problem. The only
noticeable thing is even though you can't see the cupcake you can
repeatedly "pick it up" if you know where it's supposed to be.
…Third Person Blue print

Flickering Light script is called BlinkingLight and is point light that
delays visibility. More delays can be added very easily and more realism
is added with every delay. I scripted a large chunk of the Object pickup
mechanic in the our character controller. Feel free to add to it or fix
the wrong behavior that it has now.
These are the visual changes i made. I have to redo crouch and the
lights for some reason so i'm going to have this checked out still.
I still have it checked out. this is just a milestone commit
you can move the components individually. make sure the visibility on
the point light is checked in the details menu or else you won't see the
lighting effect
…rse, lots of things are weirdly colored, couldn't find some things.
Fixed environment colliders and added interaction for bed, phone, TV,
fridge, stove, cabinets, and bedroom window. Also fixed tilted player
camera.
Events 1-13, booleans from PlayerCharacter. Events are located either
with objects or event trigger boxes. Events have comments saying which
goes next.
Not perfect but it's good

Mug now spawns upon exiting office. Also fixed duplicate "New Voicemail"
message.
Dialogue system works off HUD blueprints and Level Blueprint. Currently
the first dialogue does not stop showing. Needs to be fixed.
…ot of things (shower/bathtub, kitchen cabinets, etc.) because all the ones I find don't work...
Dialogue is still broken...will continue to work on it. Added start
screen.
We added the missed call/voicemail screen to a phone dummy object that
we're going to call when the event fires. Still working on playing the
voicemail upon interaction and showing the phone at the right spot

still working on it. had to commit so LA could work. Added a couple
essential props such as pill bottles for the bathroom to simulate being
messed up and the vase we were gonna have dead flowers in. there's also
a few more generic noises going on. sorry about the tv static
Added a test event on the bed to test event dispatcher from the player
character. It works! Will replace god-awful while-loop/branch mess in
level blueprint with custom events.
Added more assets. Did a lot with the lighting. The game starts pitch
black now and the whole house is dark. The TV event needs to be reworked
and so does the photos event. I'm incredibly tired so I'm going to bed
now and I'll work more tomorrow

Tv turns on when entering bedroom. static plays. remote goes missing.
photos become scratched out in bedroom. key appears on table. lights

Added dialogue events to the Level Blueprint. Currently up to Nina phone
call. Events aren't called yet.
Still need to add in the dialogue during the events. but the game
finishes! for some reason the crawlspace takes like 3 presses of E to
actually open for some reason. i'll tweak that later but for now i'm
committing
Dialogue up to Nina phone call is mostly working. Some sounds are off
sync though.
Pretty sure dialogue is done. Anything left I can add in. Sound effects
need fixing.
Adjusted the Third Person Character Script to modify camera position
when crouched and reset it when uncrouched.
This is just a milestone of like 200+ changes I don't want to have to
make again. It's the starting event all the way to the TV turning on
event.
seriously though play the game several times and try to break it and
i'll fix whatever it is tonight if i can
…odel, mug model. Can't find closet doors anywhere, can't find curtains that work, can't find polaroids/photos. Subtitles still not synched. Audio needs fixed.
