This is a draft PR for the initial-value solver. This is large, so let's discuss before we merge...

Some things to resolve before merging:

  1. Fix merge conflicts (we've been diverged from develop for over a year)
  2. Remove analysis code added by me that won't make it into the final codebase.
  3. Discuss testing strategy for this new release - this feature touches most parts of the LEGOLAS code, let's make sure to test it thoroughly
