I think this should work but I haven't really tested it all together because I didn't want to set up a spare set of Twitter credentials. Tested it in parts and it seems to work though. If it's not too much trouble, maybe you can just try it from here?
I let your original code keep splitting the names and such, and Mastodon just defers to Twitter's posting logic. Basically just tucked a "toot" call under each of the "tweet" calls.
Let me know a good way for me to send you the Mastodon credentials!
