NO LONGER MAINTAINED
Thanks for your interest in Picard. Unfortunately, it is no longer maintained, and currently does not work at all.
Picard v1.0.7-beta: Fix Multi-Commander
Commanders other than your main weren't updating properly. This should be fixed now. One of these days I will get an alt so I can properly test this without fake log entries.

Picard v1.0.6-beta: Less frequent reloading
The log files will now only be re-read if there has been a change. This solves a few edge cases, like how it would mess up if you had manually updated Inara.

Picard v1.0.5-beta: Multiple Commanders and Lokalisierung
If you have already run Picard and only have one commander, nothing should change for you, except that it will rename your State file.
If you have multiple commanders, you will now be able to select one on startup. After you "exit", it will ask you to choose again. You can run it on a new commander, or exit.
Also, we should now have better support for locating the Saved Games directory in whatever language it is in. Picard now looks for a subdirectory under your user profile directory that contains "Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Journal.*.log".

Picard v1.0.4-beta: Fix data inconsistency bug
There is now no way to post to Inara without having the latest data from Elite Dangerous journal files.

Picard v1.0.3-beta: Handle Irrelevant Commodites Better
Now, having a few unknown commodities won't ruin your whole day.
It will warn you that you have unknown commodities, but then it will save them to an ignore file and never warn you again.
If one of them ends up being important to Engineering, we'll have to cross that bridge when we get to it.

Picard v1.0.2 beta - Handle One Commander Better
So, immediately upon releasing Picard, I had a bug reported that I had not considered: turns out, a lot of people have multiple Elite Dangerous commanders. Picard <1.0.2 just reads all of the journals and does not filter per-commander.
The obvious solution is to be able to associate multiple local commanders with multiple Inara accounts. This is ultimately the correct solution and will be implemented someday; however, in the interests of getting updates out quickly, for now I am just going to enforce Picard's support for only one commander.
If you have already run Picard and have only one commander, you should not notice any difference. There are some new ignored commodities, thanks to contributors.
If you have already run Picard and have more than one commander, it will ask you which one you want to associate with your Inara account. I do apologize for this temporary limitation.
If you have not run Picard before, make sure you have manually updated your Inara inventory for one of your commanders before the first time you run it.

Small bugfix update
This release clarifies what you are supposed to do the first time you run Picard, and fixes a bug where the refresh functionality of the First Run process did not reload data from Inara.
If you have already used Picard, ignore the usual warning message below.
Before running Picard for the first time, you must update your Inara.cz account with your Elite Dangerous inventory, the old-fashioned way. Then, run Picard for the first time. It will remember where you are in your logs. Every time you run Picard again after that, it will update inara with the materials you have gained or lost.
