- Latest versions of Node.js, Express, Socket.IO, and MySQL as of August 6, 2016 (2016-08-06).
- If not already, install Node.js, and then use npm to install the rest (i.e.
npm install express, etc.) - Run
node server.jsto start it up. It should start on port 80. If not, change the const on the first few lines ofserver.js.
You can try using the Node service called Forever (install via npm install forever) then run this Node program using forever start server.js when in the directory server of elephant. This will continue running this Node program in the background.
