Saw some folks in the comments requesting this feature. Added optional parameters to the begin function to specify username and password. Tested this on both secure and insecure mosquitto server: seems like everything is working as it did before and authentication is working as expected. I haven't been able to verify this working on Arduino as my unit hasn't arrived yet (also can't compile demo because of library incompatibility). Let me know if there are any issues or something you would like changed!
