FAQ

How do I send an email to all of Hanszen?

It's easy! Just send your email to hanszen@mailman.rice.edu

But, there is a catch. You must send your email through your email address that is registered on the listserv by the College Coordinator.

By default, this email will be the one that is of the form: FirstName.MiddleInitial.LastName@rice.edu, which you should be able to access by signing into gmail as netID@rice.edu.

If you prefer to have a different email address on the listserv, you can make it happen by getting in touch with the college coordinator.

Additional notes:

  • Your email will bounce back if it is greater than 5 MB

What is a "listserv"?

A listserv is something you will get to know very well over your time at Rice. It is an email listing such that whenever an email is sent through it, every member of the listserv receives the email.

The Hanszen-wide listserv is called [HFH] and you will receive a lot of [important] emails from it all the time. It includes all Hanszenites as well as the H-Team

How do I send an announcement to all of Hanszen?
