Gustavo Torres

Full-stack engineer based in Florianópolis, Brazil. I build web applications end-to-end, from architecture and backend to polished, performant UIs.

Currently at Balancer, shipping tools for the DeFi ecosystem. Most excited about the intersection of web development and web3, building dApps that are actually good to use.

What I'm working with

Core: TypeScript, Next.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Docker
Web3: Solidity, on-chain data, Ethereum ecosystem
Also use: Python, React Native, FastAPI

A few things I've built

  • LBP Simulator — live production app at Balancer. Simulates token launch price curves over time, with real-time 10k+ point charts running in Web Workers at 60fps
  • Financial Assistant — personal finance app with CSV bank import, spending dashboards, and an AI assistant for insights

Background

Before going deep on engineering, I spent time as a technical lead across 10 concurrent projects — defining stacks, architecture, and mentoring junior devs. That context makes me think about code differently.
