This mobile application is designed to help users learn the Buryat language using the React Native framework. Buryat is a language spoken by the Buryat people of Siberia, Mongolia, and China. The app aims to provide an interactive and engaging way for users to learn the language, with features such as vocabulary, flashcards and quizzes.
- Flashcards: Users can review Buryat vocabulary words with flashcards that display the word in Buryat and provide the English translation.
- (in progress) Quizzes: Users can test their knowledge of Buryat vocabulary words with multiple choice quizzes.
- Vocabulary Builder: Users can create their own personalized vocabulary list by saving words they want to learn.
- Translator: Users can translate between Buryat and Russian using the app's built-in translator.
To get started with the app, follow these steps:
- Clone this repository to your local machine
- Install the necessary dependencies using
npm install - Start the development server using
npm start - Install the Expo app on your mobile device
- Scan the QR code displayed in the terminal to open the app on your device
