Motivation

• This generation has watched more movies than any generation in the human history, but that does not pleases our hunger to watch even more movies.
• Instead of having a scarcity of movies, we face a different problem. There are plethora of movies. Too many choices. It makes the decision of picking a movie even more hard.
• So, we built a recommendation system for movies. Now, Netflix and other platforms already have a recommendation system but they also present 100 options at once. We try to present fewer movies, but with the same amount of intelligence as them. Obviously, the latter is easier said than done.
• Our attempt is based on the genres and ratings, while a model is also present (in the repo) that uses other characteristics like the transcript of the movie.
