3.1 Extensive games

Extensive games are game trees with the following structural elements:

  • Players
  • States of the game represented by tree nodes
  • Moves of players and of chance corresponding to tree edges
  • Payoffs to players at terminal nodes (leaves)
  • Information sets describing the information a player has about the state of the game.
