TOOLL.io is a huge project with a huge range of possible applications: linear realtime animations, games, trade-fair-installations, compositing, or VJing. Anything goes and head been done. Its user-interface and defines a perfect playground for such things without cluttering the interface. It's build to experiment. And to share these experiments.

If you are interested in computer graphics, animation or interaction design we encourage you to contribute. We originate from the demo scene and are a super friendly and open community. There is plenty to do for all levels of expertise:

If you want to learn coding or just want to help us somehow

  • Start by implementing Operators, e.g. for Mesh-Generation, IO,
  • Help us to improve documentation (e.g. this wiki), esp. English language, clarity and consistency. Don't be shy, if you see a spellling mistake, click "Edit" right now!
  • Help us to structure and sort issues: Answer sort and close questions. Point out doubles. Extend the FAQ. There is soo much work that keeps us from coding
  • Maybe set up an IRC-channel.

If you want to improve the UI

  • There are many potential enhancements and inconsistencies, we would love to get help with. We are very sensitive regarding FeatureBloat, so before starting features, you should create an issue first so we can discuss if the features fits into the UI-concept and how it can be user-tested before implementation.   • If you're an expert in WPF/XAML development you can help use to optimize performance of the UI.
