This is mostly to keep track of this solution, so we can point to others about this for trobleshoting and chill.
I don't think any BSD or ToaruOS/PonyOS provide those files or equivalents but as I say this is mostly to pinpoint bugs... unles we wrap the solution in a
if linux do thisthing.If someone have a better solution another PR is welcome.
