Thanks Simon code looks good but can't get it to work in practice. Deployed this branch as a snapshot, built an image from it with configs modified to add the elda:encloseDescribe true annotation to each api instance but having no effect.
Haven't yet managed to find a way to run it under a debugger to figure out what's going on.

Fixes #277
Add API spec property (elda:encloseDescribe -> boolean) to determine whether to enclose describe query results. Disabled by default.
