= 1_ Overview
================================================================================
RayMini is a multi-platform minimal raytracer implemented in C++/OpenGL/Qt.
This software package is meant to be distributed to Telecom ParisTech
students only.
================================================================================
== 1.1_ Features
================================================================================
The main features implemented in this ray tracing engine are:
1) Adjustable-depth inter-reflections
2) Interactive mode
3) Ambient occlusion
4) Shadow generation
5) Possibility to choose between hard/soft shadows and adjustable extended
light source parameters.
6) Focus effect filtering
7) Multiple example scenes to choose from
8) Path tracing rendering with adjustable parameters
9) Possibility to use texture-bump maps
10) Accelerated ray-geometry intersection check by a KD-Tree

== 2.1_ Pre-requisites
================================================================================
In order to compile and run raymini, you'll need to install the following
tools:
* gcc >v4.3 (MinGW if you're on windows)
* OpenGL libraries
* QT >v4.4
* libQGLViewer
* GLEW
* Doxygen
================================================================================
== 2.2_ Compiling and running raymini
================================================================================
================================================================================
=== 2.2.1_ On Linux
================================================================================
Compiling raymini on linux is straightforward:
1_ Generate the makefile via the command:
qmake-qt4 raymini.pro
2_ Launch the building process via the command:
make
3_ Launch raymini via the command:
./raymini
================================================================================
=== 2.2.2_ On Windows
================================================================================
Compiling and running raymini on windows should be made using the QtCreator
tool. To open the project with QtCreator, double-click the raymini.pro file.
If that doesn't work, right-click the raymini.pro file, click on "open with"
and choose QtCreator on the pop-up window that will appear.
================================================================================
== 2.3_ Generating and viewing raymini's documentation
================================================================================
The project's documentation is written in Doxygen's syntax. In order to
generate it, one should run the following command in the root folder:
doxygen
To see the HTML documentation, simply navigate to the doc/html folder.
If you want a PDF documentation, navigate to the doc/latex folder and
run:
1. make
2. evince refman.pdf
