Thanks for the PR 👍 This is certainly a nice improvement and I will be glad to add it once we have upgraded to the corresponding version of Quarkus that contains vertx 4.5.22. We try to stick as closely as possible to the library versions determined by Quarkus as it is the basic application framework that Hono builds upon. Again, thanks a lot for your contribution :-) |

With the release of version
4.5.22of thevertx-protonpackage. It's now possible to set the authorization ID of the amqp SASL authentication. This PR implements authentication with the SASL External mechanism, by setting the authorization ID when connecting to the remote authentication server.Additionally, the authentication is changed to fail instead of continuing without impersonation when the user isn't allowed to impersonate. This makes debugging easier.
