How to capture dense focus stack images at equal depth interval?

Hi, Dorin. These focus stack images in different scenes are very professional and useful. Thanks for your contribution. At the moment，I want to make my own focus stack dataset. So, could you give me some advice? Thank you so much.

1. what kind of lens should I use?
2. are there any specialized cameras for capture focus stack, it is related to question 1.
3. how to control the focusing shift at different focal depths? There are nearly 50 captured images for a scene at equal depth intervals (scene 9 in your dataset). It's hard to control manually. So, are there any related softwares or equipment to control the capturing?
