Qrew License

Qrew is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later (GPL-3.0-or-later).

What This Means

You CAN:

  • Use Qrew for any purpose (personal, commercial)
  • Modify the source code
  • Distribute copies
  • Distribute modified versions

⚠️ You MUST:

  • Include the license and copyright notice
  • Disclose the source code of any distributed versions
  • License modifications under GPL-3.0
  • Document any changes made

You CANNOT:

  • Sublicense or relicense under different terms
  • Hold the authors liable for damages

Qrew uses several open-source libraries:

Core Dependencies

  • PyQt5: GPL v3 (compatible)
  • NumPy: BSD License
  • Pandas: BSD License
  • VLC: LGPL v2.1

REW Integration

  • Requires REW with API license
  • REW is proprietary software by John Mulcahy
  • API access requires REW Pro license

Binary Distribution

The binary releases of Qrew include:

  • Qrew source code (GPL-3.0)
  • Required dependencies
  • No REW components
