RegReaderX is a utility for extracting registration data from SAAB or GM registration PDF files and generating license keys.
This tool simplifies the process of registering software by automatically reading the necessary information from your PDF file and generating the appropriate license key.

System Requirements

  • Windows XP or newer operating system
  • Java 6 (JRE 1.6.0) or higher
  • A valid SAAB Registration.PDF file

Install GlobalTIS

  1. Fill out Dealership Information and Save
  2. E-mail/Fax Registration
  3. Save Registration.PDF
  4. Logout and close webpage

Installation Instructions

  1. Run the "RegReaderX.exe" with Java Checks or Run the RegReaderX.jar if you have it installed already
  2. Run install_java.bat if you are running on Windows XP system
  3. The installer should configure Java on your system
  4. After installation completes, you can launch RegReaderX (JAR or .exe)

Java Configuration

The exe and batch file will automatically detect Java in the following locations:

  • Java bundled with GlobalTIS (if installed)
  • Standard Java installation locations
  • Custom Java installations set by JAVA_HOME

If Java cannot be detected, you may need to install Java 6 or newer manually.

Using RegReaderX

  1. Launch RegReaderX
  2. Click "Search for REGISTRATION.PDF" to select your SAAB registration PDF file
  3. The application will automatically extract the necessary information and generate a license key
  4. Use the "Copy" buttons to copy the Request ID, Subscriber ID, and License Key

Troubleshooting

If RegReaderX fails to start or generate keys properly:

  1. Java Issues

    • Verify Java is installed on your system
    • Ensure JAVA_HOME is set correctly in environment variables
    • Try running RegReaderX as an administrator
  2. PDF Reading Problems

    • Make sure your PDF is a valid SAAB registration document
    • Check that the PDF is not password protected
    • Verify the PDF contains a valid software key and request ID
  3. Environment Variables

    • The application uses the GlobalTIS and JAVA_HOME environment variables
    • These are normally set during installation
    • You can edit them manually through the application's interface
