Description

The ref attribute describes the reference of an object to an already existing database. It can be from WikiData or the English, German or French Wikipedia. A reference to a GND entry is also possible. Multiple references can be added for one label.

Regarding wineOrigin: If a label mentions the vineyard (Lage or Großlage), the @ref attribute is used on the wineOrigin element to record the commune (Gemeinde, more precisely: Leitgemeinde) this vineyard belongs to. The Wikidata ID for each commune is listed here: https://github.com/dh-trier/wlv/blob/master/lagenliste.tsv
