Web Design 2

Building off of what was learned in your Web Design 1, Web Design 2 will dive deeper into the design and collaboration side of web design. Utilizing frameworks and best practices, you will be tasked with completing a handful of websites and mini sites.

Course Questions

The Big Question: What goes into a successful website?

Major Course Projects

Project 1—What do you know

Jumping right in, Project 1 will be a solo project to gauge where you are as a web designer. The project will consist of constructing a 3 page website in HTML & CSS. JS & frameworks are encouraged, but not required.

Project 2—Getting on the same page

For this assignment, you will again produce a 3 page website utilizing HTML & CSS, but you will do it as a group. You will be utilizing GitHub for this project.

Project 3—Working with others

Now that you have a better sense of how to work as a team, you will work with a mock client to produce a 5 page website.

Project 4—Website re-design

Working with the Graphic Design class, you will come up with a new look for Four11.

Final Project—Find your own project

For your final project, you will be expected to produce a made to order website for faculty or staff member at EPS.

Late Work

In keeping with the school policy, assignments must be turned in within 7 calendar days of the original due dates. Late assignments can earn partial credit, but will lose Responsible Action points for being late.

* The policy of Eastside Preparatory School is that no assignment deadline may extend beyond 7 calendar days from the date on which a student returns to school or beyond the date on which the assignment was due, whichever is later. While no teacher may extend the deadline beyond 7 calendar days, they may elect to require an earlier deadline.

Absence Policy

Students are expected to track course assignments through the Canvas Course Page during absences. Upon return to school students are expected to email Mr. Clarke or visit in person for clarification of class material and assignment expectations.
