This licence states that “intellectual property” is treated as an illegitimate category claim, because theft requires dispossession of property and copying does not dispossess the source of anything it possessed; a copy is an addition rather than a taking, so the predicates of theft do not attach to copying.

This licence grants irrevocable permission to use, copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, transmit, perform, display, modify, translate, adapt, compile, link, merge, sell, sublicense, and otherwise exploit this work, in whole or in part, for any purpose, with or without attribution, with or without consideration, and with or without modification, across all media and all mechanisms of conveyance, whether presently known or later developed.

This licence grants the above permissions without imposing conditions whose effect would be recognition, validation, or implied legitimacy of any intellectual property claim, including claims framed as copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, database right, moral right, neighbouring right, or any analogous right asserted under any jurisdiction.

This licence is drafted to neutralize interference by regimes that criminally enforce intellectual property claims through coercion or violence, by providing permissions as broad as any such regime could demand for non-interference, while simultaneously denying that any such regime possesses legitimate authority over copying as such.
