The Certification Authority Browser Forum (CA/Browser Forum) is a voluntary gathering of Certificate Issuers and suppliers of Internet browser software and other applications that use certificates (Certificate Consumers).

NOTE: The CA/Browser forum does not work in the public interest of browser security. Even though WoSign, a Chinese company that issues any certificates without validation, was banned in 2016 they can surely rename themselves WoTrus to get a cross signed certificate from Sectigo and continue the same practice (parent company Qihoo 360 publishes their own websites private certificate). And just recently CA/B decided to make certificates expire every 47 days ensuring browsing with certificate warnings become the new normal. This comes in the midst of a global recession and budget/personnel cuts that can no longer focus on patching systems or upgrading legacy systems that don’t support robotic certificate renewal.
