DBMaint

BurnSoft edited this page Jan 23, 2017 · 1 revision

The dbmaint.exe application is a simple little application that allow you to delete results from the database and it will also perform the daily and monthly sum up activities of each device. Most of the maintenance and sum up procedures are scheduled and ran by the BSSM, but it is something you can also do manually or through another scheduling application.

Most of the configuration is located in the dbmaint.exe.config file, but below are the switches use by the application.

Switch Description

Switch Description
/deleteresults Runs a Truncate on all the ping data, this will clean out all the ping data except that which is already summed up to Daily, Monthly or Yearly
/archday=DAY This command will allow you to archive the ping results for each device into the daily table (Can be Run from BSSM Service), Normally you will want to have this run as a daily job and run 1 day back, but if you had to back track a few days you step it back x many days.
/archmonth=MONTH This command will allow you to archive the ping results for each device into the monthly table (Can be Run from BSSM Service), Normally you will want to have this run as a monthly job and run 1 month back, but if you had to back track a few months you step it back x many months.
/cleandb Will use the config file to look x days, months, years, back and purge data that is older then the current date minus the value in the config file.
/getoldraw Displays the oldest record for the ping results, depending on the number of your devices that you are pinging, to much in data in the raw table can cause performance issues.
