BLaDE (formerly known as BatteryLab) is an open-source platform for comprehensive performance evaluations on mobile devices, supporting both Android and iOS. The platform provides automated measurement and monitoring capabilities for:
- Power consumption (via Monsoon HV Power Monitor)
- CPU and memory usage
- Device temperature
- Network traffic analysis (bandwidth and per-app data usage)
- Remote device control
BLaDE leverages multiple automation methods including ADB for Android and Bluetooth for iOS/Android. For detailed setup instructions and configuration options, please refer to our setup guide.
Recent insights into BLaDE's development, applications, and performance benchmarking results:
- Brave for Android continues to outperform other browsers in speed and performance, based on recent tests (July 2025)
- BLaDE: Brave's Performance Evaluation Testbed (August 2024)
- MELTing Point: Mobile Evaluation of Language Transformers (July 2024)
- Brave 1.0 Performance: Methodology and Results (January 2020)
- Significant Battery Savings with Brave on Mobile: Brave Consumes 40% Less Battery than Other Leading Browsers (February 2019)
