Releases: botero-dev/bl_datasmith
release-2026-02
Blender Datasmith add-on is now open source! (at least what was the latest commercial version)
That's right folks, I think this project should be widely available to people, and this way its much easier to recommend to a friend, or make it part of your daily workflow.
This also lets everyone discuss the plugin, or contribute to it more openly.
As an additional new feature (and barely tested) you can now Import Datasmith files into Blender
Give it a run and let me know how it goes for you.
I'm going to close all existing Github issues, as this release likely solves many of the problems that were reported there over the years. If you find any issue, even if it was reported in the past, please file a new issue in Github.
Hope you get a lot of mileage from this release. Best wishes!
