Validation
A number of screenlines are drawn north-south or east-west throughout the BKR region (regional) and local jurisdictions (local) to capture traffic volumes through the roadway facilities. The plot and table below depicts the screenline locations.

Highway and transit validation templates are here (highway) and here (transit). The below sections describe how to update the templates and re-generate summaries for a new model run.
In the highway validation template ("hwy_validation_Template.xlsx"), update vehicle flows for AM and PM periods in "hwyload_6to9" and "hwyload_1530to1830". The sheets require BKRCast estimated vehicle flows. The data should contain the following fields in the given order: id, i, j, length, type, lanes, vdf, ul1, ul2, @tveh. The remaining four fields (key, flow, capacity, and v/c) are generated automatically. A EMME table named Link_Table with this format can be found from EMME models under Data Tables. Once the vehicle flows for AM and PM periods are updated, the validation summaries will be re-generated in "compare". The table starting at column "AJ" provides a comparison of BKRCast flows and observed counts by screenline. The page also includes a bar chart of comparison by screenline and a scatter plot showing goodness of fit.
In the transit validation template ("trn_validation_07062017_distbkr.xlsx"), update transit boardings by time periods in the following sheets: bkrcast_6to9, bkrcast_9to1530, bkrcast_1530to1830, and bkrcast_1830to6. The sheets require BKRCast estimated transit boardings by line. The data should contain the following fields in the given order: line, description, mode, mdesc, ca_board_t. The other two fields (line_id and board) are populated automatically. A table named Transit lines table with this format can be found in EMME models under Data Tables. Once updated, the validation summaries in green tabs will be re-generated. The below is a description of different summary tabs in the spreadsheet:
