there's the alternative, bootmark

it was inspired by strapdown, but :

• doesn't limit you to use the depracated xmp tags
• it allows you to use as many "markdown" elements as you can
• use external files within the same element (yes, that means you can request one or as many files as you want)
• uses the showdown parser
• you can decide how the markdown is parsed
• have all the bootswatch themes, use math (latex or asciimath) with the katex-latex extension
• has automatic table of contents creation
• supported everywhere because jQuery
• can be used through code
• made for the future because fetch
• and even more importantly everything is customizable
