Currently the code only works accidentally when you give your instantiation of InputPanel the id inputPanel.

Summary of Changes

Hello @frogarian, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request resolves a potential issue in InputPanel.qml where the determination of whether the component was a root item relied on an implicit and accidental ID assignment. By updating the logic to use the standard root alias, the change makes the component's internal parent-checking mechanism more reliable and prevents warnings related to undefined references, ensuring consistent behavior regardless of how the InputPanel is instantiated.

Highlights

  • Fix undefined reference: Replaced the direct reference to 'inputPanel' with 'root' in the '__isRootItem' property calculation within 'InputPanel.qml'.
  • Improved robustness: Ensures the root item detection logic no longer relies on an accidental ID assignment, making the component more robust and preventing potential 'inputPanel is not defined' warnings.

Code Review

This pull request correctly fixes a bug in InputPanel.qml where a property was referencing inputPanel, an ID that was not defined within the component's scope. This caused the component to only work correctly if it was instantiated with the specific ID inputPanel. By changing the reference to root, which is the ID of the component's top-level item, the component is now self-contained and robust. This is a good improvement for code quality and maintainability.
