For iOS two changes needed to be made to have an AUv3-compatible plugin. Firstly modal dialogs should not be used for file selection, so this was circumvented by using a tree view in the AU's main window. Secondly, the AU does not have access to the standlone's file-sharing folder (accessible with iTunes). Therefore, when a SFZ or SF2 file is loaded in the standalone, it is first copied to a folder that is shared with the AU using app groups. This slows down loading very slightly in the standalone, but seems to be the only way to get sounds into the AU.
