Chrome Web Store Listing

Name

Exposed — See What Sites Share

Short Description (132 chars max)

See what personal data websites share with third parties. Email, location, device ID, tracking cookies — all in plain English.

Detailed Description

Every website you visit shares your personal data with third parties. Ad networks, trackers, data brokers — they all get a piece. But you never see it happening.

Exposed changes that.

It's a simple extension that watches what sites send to third parties and shows you the results in plain English. No technical jargon. No confusing dashboards. Just a clear list of what data is being shared and with who.

WHAT IT DETECTS:

  • Email — your email address sent to ad networks
  • Name — your name passed through URL parameters
  • Device ID — sites fingerprinting your device via canvas, WebGL, or audio
  • Location — GPS requests or IP-based location lookups
  • Search Terms — what you searched for, forwarded to trackers
  • IP Address — your IP shared with known tracking companies
  • Browsing History — the page you're on, shared via referer headers
  • Cross-Site Tracking — cookies that follow you across websites

HOW IT WORKS:

  1. Install it. No setup, no accounts.
  2. Browse normally. The badge shows how many data types the current page is sharing.
  3. Click the icon to see details. Click any category to see exactly who's getting your data.

Switch between "This tab," "All tabs," or "This session" to see the full picture.

BUILT FOR TRUST:

  • 100% local. Exposed never sends your data anywhere. Zero network requests.
  • Open source. Every line of code is on GitHub.
  • Doesn't block anything. It only watches and reports.
  • No accounts, no tracking, no ads.

HOW IT OBSERVES: Exposed monitors web requests, headers, and JavaScript API calls on the pages you visit to detect when your data is being shared with third parties. All analysis happens locally on your device. Exposed makes zero network requests and never transmits any data.

Exposed doesn't replace your ad blocker or VPN. It shows you what's actually happening so you can make informed decisions about your privacy.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
