Overview:
We are a team of students from Olin College in Needham, MA (USA). We created this code as our final to Software Design, a basic programming course for python, taught by Amon Millner. We are Yuzhong Huang '18, Abigail Rodrigues '17, and Brian Liebson '16 (the best inter-year team that ever was).
Goal:
Our goal is to recreate a game similar to "Fruit Ninja" using OpenCV in python. As part of our OpenCV exploration, we are planning on additionally using Pygame with OpenCV's color detection to determine if objects are colliding. This Fruit Ninja inspired game will be played using the Olin laptop's, or any's, webcam.
How to Play:
Due to the way we are using color detection, we request that you try to use a background and clothing with as little blue as possible. In addition we request you hold a blue object or wear blue gloves. Furthermore, we request that you stand at an appropriate distance from your webcam so that the game isn't too easy nor too difficult. As objects fly across the screen, your goal it to hit the "fruit" objects with your blue gloves/object. If you hit the fruit, the score will rise. Try to get as many fruit as you can before the timer runs out!
