   最大の最適化を行った場合においては、C言語はRustにその効率性, 実行速度で勝ちうることは様々なプロジェクトで判明していると考えられる。 実例としてはffmpegがrustコードでは旧来のコードの実行速度に打ち勝てない部分があると懸賞金までかけたという話がある。

   しかし、rustに打ち勝つレベルのCコードによる最適化は、シニアかつそのドメインに深く成熟した経験をもつプログラマが熟考と何回ものテストを経て生み出される極めて高コストな産物であると言える。 もちろんこういう最適化が必要な実例はこの世に溢れている。

   先程の例であるffmpegやdeepseekがあれほどの効率を成しているのは、(cでは無かった気がするが)ハードウェアに極めて近い領域で人海戦術のような最適化を行ったためという話もある。 実際こういったインフラやミドルウェアにおいてはその最適化が十分に生き、先のような高コストに見合うほどのリターンがあるだろう。
