Playthrough

A playthrough test is one in which the player simply plays the game. The goal is to test the feel of the game and find any errors that are on the critical path. Often these will be recorded with a screen recorder to provide both video feedback and footage for trailers and GIFs.

  • Build the release
  • Play as a "normal" player
  • Record an issue for every possible improvement to the game, this includes bug reports, game balance, game feel and more

Scenario Testing

  • Define the scenario in the editor
  • Setup the LevelDev scene to use the scenario
  • Start the screen recorder
  • Play the scenario as many times as needed
  • Record an issue for every possible improvement to the game, this includes bug reports, game balance, game feel and more
