Based on discussions in software meeting, identifying places where we might want to loosen energy cuts on neutrinos.

TODO: determine if want to remove cut entirely on neutrinos, set a small cut on neutrinos or set a cut on neutrino parent

Dear all,

As we discussed at the last software meeting, we would need a feedback from the physics meeting before confirming the energy cut. Strictly from the code side, everything is clear, so I have no comment on that.

My only doubt is that applying a much lower cut to a specific class of particles (i.e. neutrinos), may have some effect on the decay chain from the mother particles (which would be cut at much higher energy).

Best Regards,
Antonio

Could someone bring this up for discussion at the next physics meeting please?

Good morning everybody.
Following today's discussion at the Physics Meeting, I would suggest to check the bias induced by the different cut on neutrino parents with respect to neutrinos.
An alternative would be a small production with a lower cut for all particles.

Thanks for the suggestion. Could you have a look at this?

Of course! However for this check, I would kindly need a production, even with a small sample, launched after the MCTrack container issue fixed.
Otherwise, I am unable to access the motherID information to compare neutrino energies with their parents.
Do we have such a sample?

I have looked into the effect of parent energy cut on neutrino energy after yesterday's discussion -- I will show some slides at the software meeting
