This PR separates the notebook widgets into a separate package and re-works them to use anywidget instead of jupyter widgets.
There are a variety of reasons to consider anywidget but the motivation for this was more flexibility in the UI for future widget possibilities as well as support in other types of notebooks (colab, marimo, etc)
