Manual Installation

  1. Copy the skill files into your Clawdbot workspace:
    skills/tax-professional/SKILL.md
    skills/tax-professional/references/common-writeoffs.md

  2. Create the data directory for your personal tax data:
    data/tax-professional/

  3. Start chatting — the skill will set itself up based on your profile.

Setup

On first use, the skill will:

  1. Read USER.md — Picks up your employment type, location, filing status, and personal context
  2. Ask about employment type — W-2, 1099, S-Corp, or mixed — to tailor all advice
  3. Set up expense tracking — Creates data/tax-professional/YYYY-expenses.json for logging deductible expenses
  4. Configure tax calendar crons — Sets up automated reminders for quarterly payments, filing deadlines, and year-end planning windows

Data Structure

This skill follows Clawdbot's data separation convention:

skills/tax-professional/
├── SKILL.md # Skill logic (this repo — shareable, portable)
  └── references/
      └── common-writeoffs.md # Generic reference material (shareable)

data/tax-professional/
├── YYYY-expenses.json # Your tracked expenses (personal — not shared)
  ├── tax-profile.md # Your tax-relevant info (personal — not shared)
  └── YYYY-return-analysis.md # Return analyses (personal — not shared)

Skills get updated independently of your data. Your expense history and tax profile persist across skill updates.
