User Stories

  • I do a lot of cooking and want to have a place to organize my recipes. I am constantly slightly changing ingredients and cooking times and would like to have an easy to see notes area so that I can keep track of changes and observations. I'd like my recipes to be easy to edit and easy to find. I'd also like to upload photos of my creations.
  • I'm constantly trying to figure out what to cook with ingredients that I have at home. I'd like to be able to search for recipes by ingredients and add them to a wishlist/to be cooked later. I like looking for things to try and having an accessible list, like pinterest, of things i"m interested in. I'd like to move recipes I've tried to a list of recipes I've made and have the ability to comment on that recipe about how I've made it.

My Process - Trello Board

Sprint 1

Trello Board

  • Stubbed out my trello board (see above)
  • Created user stories and wireframed (how I want the site to look and the routs and tables I'll need for functionality)
  • Explored various APIs and chose to use Food2Fork
  • Followed Trello board (green is sprint one items)

Sprint 2

Trello Board

  • Started with GET routes, making sure that each page shows up how it's supposed to
  • Worked on POST routes and adding items to the database
  • Worked on DLETE and PUT routes for the wishlist to get MVP functionality
  • My AUTH boilerplate used bootstrap, but I wanted to use materialize, so my initial styling for this sprint involved switching from boostrap to materialize

Sprint 3

Trello Board

  • Added my recipes routes
  • Added the homepage styling and styled every page using the style.css file in the public folder
  • Added cloudinary and the ability to upload a photo of what a user has made
