This one is a bit out there, but I figured I might as well submit a PR on the off-chance it gets accepted.
I'd like to use this great library in AdvancedBackups, which needs to support Java 8 for ancient Minecraft versions. We could use a fork for this, but perhaps the syntax sugar downgrade is insignificant enough to be accepted into upstream?
No hard feelings if you don't want to accept this one, not sure I would in your position either :)
