Cosmic Reach 0.5.12 is out! Merry Christmas!

  • Added a Santa hat, which for now is a rare drop from laser interceptors
  • Added Sulfur ore, which when crushed produces Sulfur Crystals, an ingredient for the Battery block.
  • Added Aluminium doors
  • Added a GUI to the server, which can be disabled with --no-gui
  • Pistons now push entities
  • The player can now crawl through tighter spaces
  • Removed the respawn button from the pause menu
  • Fixed doors wrongly culling blocks
  • Fixed laser "quantum entanglement" bug
  • Fixed jetpack not rendering when no longer flying while equipped
  • Fixed fir leaves not dropping items when broken
  • Fixed equipment screen player animating weirdly while in third person

  • Added Cobblestone variants for limestone, basalt, gabbro, and sandstone

  • Added the Liquefactor, which uses power and water to liquify starch slurry

  • Added Starch, which is made from putting corn in the crusher

  • Magma is no longer a fuel source
  • Stone bricks now have the same hardness as regular stone

New machines!

  • Added the Recycler, a block that breaks down items with simple crafting recipes
  • Added the Crusher, which breaks down stones into gravel, gravel into sand, ice into snow, and ores into dust for smelting
  • Added the Battery Block, which stores power for machines
  • Added Wooden Ladder
  • The workbench can now be used to swap between block types (e.g. stairs and slabs)
  • The workbench and electric furnace now have new textures
  • All light blocks now have emissive textures
  • Coal blocks now spawn twice as often
  • Rubies and Sapphires no longer drop directly in the ores, get them through the crusher instead!
  • Fixed wetlands no longer generating shale under clay
  • Fixed interceptor traps no longer dropping light blocks
  • Fixed crash when alt tabbing or minimizing the game on Windows
  • Fixed blocks in inventory rendering the wrong direction

The great underground overhaul!

  • Caves now form in layers, making the underground much more packed for exploring!
  • Lava caves now form in deep underground
  • Added Komatiite, an extremely tough rock at the bottom of the world
  • Added postprocessing effect when underwater
  • Can now scroll in the crafting menu using the scroll wheel
  • Incinerators now only spawn on magma and basalt blocks
  • Gravel patches are now smaller and more common
  • Fixed crash using fluid vaccuum on logs
  • Fix falling blocks not rendering (again)
  • Removed spherical lava caves
