Troubleshooting & Logs 🛠️

This page provides guidance on monitoring the application's performance and resolving common issues encountered during the extraction and fitting processes.

Understanding the Logs

Both the PDF Extract and Smart Square Fit modules feature a dedicated log panel. These logs provide real-time feedback on every action the software performs.

Log Indicators

SUCCESS: The file was processed and saved correctly in the destination folder.

SKIPPED: The image was ignored because it did not meet the Dimension Filter criteria (e.g., it was too small).

ERROR: The process failed for a specific file (usually due to file corruption or permission issues).

Common Issues & Solutions

1. No images are being extracted from the PDF**

Reason: The PDF might be "flattened" (the text and images are one single layer) or the images are smaller than your Exclusion Filters.

Solution: Try lowering the dimension filters (Width/Height) to 0 and re-run the process. If it still fails, ensure the PDF is not password-protected.

2. Low Quality in WebP files

Reason: The WebP quality slider is set too low.

Solution: Increase the quality percentage in the PDF Extract tab. For e-commerce, a value between 80% and 90% is usually the "sweet spot" for quality vs. file size.

3. Smart Square Fit output looks blurry

Reason: The source image was much smaller than the final square canvas.

Solution: The tool fits the image into the square based on its original resolution. Ensure your source images are of high enough resolution before applying the padding and background filters.
