Milestones

List view

  • The player can enter the main game loop from the hangar. There he can go forth into the procedurally generated world and shoot down planes that get stronger the further he gets from the center. This might not yet include PowerUps. When his planes are shot down he returns to the hangar, but first he gets to unpack the rewards he earned in a menu that serves this purpose.

  • The game now has enough content (graphics, parts, aircrafts, math challenges, missions/things to do) to be considered somewhat enjoyable.

  • The player can now enter "the scrapyard" from the hangar. There he can choose all the different math problem types and try them at will. He can earn small rewards (making sure he can always construct planes, even if he loses everything), but the most important function of it is as a math sandbox where the player can make as many math mistakes as he wants without getting punished for it.

    Due by July 19, 2020
  • The player can now manage his aircrafts in a hangar menu. He can construct aircrafts from parts in his collection, modify them and manage his collection of parts. From there he can enter the main game-loop. The hangar milestone includes the ability to save and load automatically.

  • The central game loop works. That means aircrafts can fly around, controlled by the player, or by AI. They can shoot each other and react to damage. This also means, that their functionality (movement, damage, offensive ability) emerges from their parts and the way they are connected.
