The 'Check for Updates Now' button in settings was updating a StaticText label which screen readers don't announce. Now uses wx.MessageBox for all outcomes (no update, update available, error, running from source) matching the Help menu behavior that NVDA reads aloud.

Fixes: Settings update check button appears to do nothing for screen reader users.
