Commondata implementation for Z + b-jet and Z + c-jet production. The implemented observables are cross sections differential in P_T of Z, and differential in leading b(c)-jet. The implementation is divided in two folders: ATLAS_Z1C_13TEV and ATLAS_Z1B_13TEV

Dear @kamillaurent (cc @scarlehoff ) I have some suggestions to improve the implementation of this data set.

  • I would have a single folder instead of two. Our rule of thumb is one paper=one folder.
  • I suggest to have a single metadata file per folder (right now you have two). You should then specify the various observables in the metadata file as a list of implemented_observables.
  • In my opinion, the only relevant Hepdata Tables are: Tables 4 and 5 (+ Tables 12 and 14 for the correction factors), for Z+>1b jets, corresponding to Fig. 9 of the paper; and Tables 9-10 (+ Tables 13 and 15 for the correction factors), for Z+>1c jet, corresponding to Fig. 12 of the paper. Please remove all the other tables from the rawdata folder.

So, all in all, I suggest that you have a single folder, with a single metadata file, and four observables, in sequence:

  • Z+>1b jets, pT(Z)
  • Z+>1b jets, leading b-jet pT
  • Z+>1c jets, pT(Z)
  • Z+>1c jets, leading b-jet pT

With ZJ (it is a Z + jet after all) and HQ in the name, e.g. , ATLAS_ZJ_13TEV_HQ

another option is "FJ" for flavoured jet.

I suggest to have a single metadata file per folder (right now you have two). You should then specify the various observables in the metadata file as a list of implemented_observables.

e.g., one observable can be C and the other B or CJET and BJET so that the full name of the datasets are:

ATLAS_ZJ_13TEV_HQ_CJET-PT
ATLAS_ZJ_13TEV_HQ_CJET-PTZ
ATLAS_ZJ_13TEV_HQ_BJET-PTZ
ATLAS_ZJ_13TEV_HQ_BJET

Thank you for the comments @enocera, @scarlehoff. I have included all new datasets in a single directory, with the naming convention suggested by Juan CM, and collected everything in a single metadata.yaml file. The "theory" part in the metadata file is still to be updated with FK-Tables names.

I have some doubt about the correlation factors: Emanuele suggests to include tables for correlated factor, and it is not clear to me if the informations in these tables have to be included in the datasets I implemented. For now I am not considering correlation factors in my implementation.

Dear @kamillaurent for now you should not do anything with the correction factors, just leave the Hepdata tables in the rawdata folder. When we will compare the data to the theory we will wonder whether it may make sense to correct the theory by means of supplementary K-factors. Thanks.
