BartPE[1] was unapproved project to build live cd from official Windows XP/2003 installation media. It remplaced MSDOS boot disk with third party NTFS driver. Microsoft' Longhorn project was meant to build the next OS after Windows XP. Due to massive feature creep & instability, this codebase was abandonned in 2005 and restarted from the source code of Windows Server 2003 SP1. Windows Longhorn build 3718 was compiled on 2002-11-19. eComStation was a distribution of OS/2 Warp by Serenity Systems with updated software after IBM discontinued OS/2 in 2006. eComStation 2.1 is the latest version released in 2011 and after a preview in 2013, is now considered dead.
