PolyMAZE is a robotics competition organized by the VIC Club of the SPARK Department at the École Nationale Polytechnique (Algeria).
Our team won the competition, achieving the fastest and most reliable autonomous maze-solving performance.
The goal of PolyMAZE is to design a fully autonomous maze-solving robot capable of navigating an unknown maze without any external assistance.
The competition is divided into two main phases:
- The robot autonomously explores an unknown maze
- Builds an internal representation of the environment
- Identifies the optimal path (shortest and fastest)
- The robot re-runs the maze using the optimized path
- Objective: minimum time and maximum precision
During the maze traversal, the robot must detect and collect:
- One Paramecia Devil Fruit: red, blue, or green
- One Logia Devil Fruit: yellow, magenta, or cyan
Collecting both provides a virtual “power boost” to conquer the Grand Line, adding a strategic perception challenge.
- Winner of PolyMAZE Competition
- Fastest autonomous navigation
- Robust decision-making and perception
- Best execution time in the race phase
- Fully autonomous maze exploration
- Optimal path planning
- Real-time obstacle detection
- Color-based object recognition
- Reliable performance under time constraints
