How to build a computer

Which is better in a CPU, more cores or higher speed? Under which circumstances is that true? How many CPU cores does a computer need?

The higher the processor's speed in gigahertz (GHz), the faster it can process data. Many applications use multiple threads at the same time, so more cores can improve performance. Normally 4 cores.

What details are you looking for when finding a motherboard which fits your processor?

Select a motherboard which is compatible with your processor. Onboard Wi-Fi (ensures that your computer will have wireless capabilities) Bluetooth, Multiple RAM slots/high RAM capacity and Support for graphics cards if necessary (PCIe x16 slot)

What are the tradeoffs you’d evaluate while selecting a storage device?

HDDs can also use IDE instead of SATA as their connections, but SATA is newer and thus supported on all modern motherboards. The added benefits of an SSD also come with a higher price tag. Many PC users choose a relatively small capacity (200-500GB) SSD to use as their boot drive (the drive the operating system runs on), and then use a larger (500GB-1TB) HDD for their files. This makes the computer run much faster, as the operating system will benefit from the increased speeds of the SSD.

Think about others with a background similar to yours. How would you explain to them the key parts of a computer, in a way they’d best connect with?

Computers are like wiring a house. Everything needs power, running power to everything from the CPU is like running it from a power main. once everything has power, then its the details. In a house, it would be pushing the wires in and putting faceplates, finishing touches on. In a computer its pushing the wires in, and putting everything back where it goes then putting the case back on. Same with wiring all the components have to good for what you want out of the product. you wouldn't do the same plan for a factory as you would a home.
