First release: valerain-0.0.5

This is the first public release of Valerain.

valerain-0.0.5 marks the beginning of the project’s public development. In testing against Viridithas 2.1.0 (used here as a 2400 CCRL baseline), valerain-0.0.5 achieved the following result over 1163 games:

• Time: 8+0.08s
• Score: 392 - 275 - 496
• Performance: 55.0%
• Estimated CCRL-equivalent strength: 2435.1 ± 15.1 Elo
• LOS: 100.0%
• Draw ratio: 42.6%

Color split:

• As White: 245 - 78 - 259 (64.3%)
• As Black: 147 - 197 - 237 (45.7%)

These results suggest that the first public version of valerain is already performing at approximately 2435 CCRL Elo, with particularly strong results when playing White.

This is only the beginning. More improvements to search, evaluation, and overall playing strength will come in future releases.
