A repository accompanying the study "Code Detectives: How Do Computer Science Educators Detect Generative AI's Code?"

Repository Structure

  • Code_1_Student/: Contains Java solutions written by students for five programming problems:

    • 1_RoomRentCalculator.java
    • 2_CoffeeShopBilling.java
    • 3_MUTheater.java
    • 4_MUGroceryStore.java
    • 5_WordProcessor.java
  • Code_2_ChatGPT/: Contains Java solutions generated by ChatGPT for the same five programming problems as above.

  • Programming Questions/: Includes PDF files describing each programming problem:

    • Q1_Room Rental System.pdf
    • Q2_Coffee shop billing system.pdf
    • Q3_Theater System.pdf
    • Q4_GroceryStore System.pdf

Purpose

This repository is designed to compare student-written code and AI-generated code for a set of introductory programming problems, supporting research into how educators detect generative AI's code.
